The
Finns do not know the word „Please“¨
Description:
When I visited Centria for the
first time, I went to outside to smoke as ussual after lesson to clear my head
and prepare for next lesson. Some Finnish guy came to me and asked for
cigarette like this
„Do you have cigarette?“ I was little bit confused that some foreign just came to me and ask me for something and did not say the magic word „please“ at least. But I am friendly so I just made a joke like „Where is the magic word?“ and gave him the cigarette. Suddenly he told me like three times thank you.

Interpretation:
In the first moments I thought that the Finn guy just saw
Exchange student so he just was just shy or he did not know English very well
so he did not say please because he forgot.. Another explanation of this
situation is that this guy was just rude.
Evaluation:
After conversation with this Finn guy I understood that
Finnish language does not include word please. And for Finns is quite problem to
learn this problematics like when use this word. So after this experiance I
know that Finns are not trying to be rude or something like that but they just
can not say please but on the other hand they are very thankfull much more than
other people.

Yes yes, you are right....I was really surprised that there is not word "please" in Finnish language
