Music Task

First of all, I need to admit that I’m not big fan of rock music, but I was satisfied about taking part in event. This concert was performed by Tiia Katajamäki and her friends, band prepared over 10 songs of well-known band FOO FIGHTERS. It was tribute for fertileness artist from north America. All songs were arrangement in rock climate, but I was positively surprised, even I must wear earplugs – music was very loud.  Other thing worth to notice is that singer have very good technique of singing.

Expressly I was pleased about guest presence violin artist. Generally, i can recommend other student this event, because I spend there very nice time.

Music assignment

Antti Paalanen is a Finnish experimental performer and composer; master of the diatonic accordion. 
The instrument itself was invented in the 1800s and became an essential part of the variety of folk traditions. However, Antti Paalanen doesn't play the traditional, meaning ordinary, music. He created his own style and gave it a new name - breathbox. 

It was exactly this new approach that caught my attention on the Centria Night Music event in the end of September. I didn't expect anything new from the traditional instrument performance, but that one delightfully surprised me.  

Later on, I found out that Antti Paalanen is pretty famous in Finland. In 2015 he graduated as a Doctor of Music from Sibelius Academy, and now he works as a lecturer in Centria's music department, plays in several music bands and records albums.

So, next time, I intentionally went to the Corner's pub to listen to his play. The place was really crowded which isn't common in Kokkola. With the first sounds of the accordion everyone went to the dance floor.

The point is that it is really difficult to categorize Antti's music: not "folk", not "alternative". Something really special which is worth to hear once than to read twice. 
I really loved this unique, mesmerizing sound. Hope, everyone will enjoy it!

Finnish music

During summer of 2016 I was in Åland which is very beautiful Island of Finland. I spent my summer very pleasantly and I can say that it was my best time ever. Actually, I went there for my summer job. In the meantime, they have launched different events. So far, I got to experience many things and observed so many beautiful views and places. As per I know Finn are very fond of music and songs. Before and after the mid-summer there launched many concerts who welcomed many artists from Sweden, Finland and within the Island. after the midsummer they have many events of music. On the mid-July they have Rock off summer festival. during rock off they have live music continuously for one week.

 During the rock off they invite many artist and band from different parts of Finland and Sweden. at the mean time I asked one of my friend what kind of music do Finn prefer? then he replied me that Finns and Swedish music are not so good as other western music like music from USA, UK, and so many others English spoken nations but we have been improving the music trend here also. Anyway I love the Finn music which I found very peace and energetic kind.

Music Assignment - Centria Night Music event.

A few weeks ago, some of my friends were going to Centria Night Music event. It was in the konservatorium near the center and I decided to give it a try. I am not keen on classical music nor classical music instruments as violin or piano, but you need to try new things to do in this city.

To my surprise the music event was really good, most of the musicians where students from Centria and play the instruments amazingly. The concert mixed opera with violin and many other instruments, almost all with piano in the background. There was classical songs like Beethoven and similar, plus Finnish classics songs played with flute and Finnish instruments like Kantele.

Days later I meet some of those guys on the sauna, they told us that the sing/ play from years ago and they where happy that some others than family attended the concert.

It was a good experience and I would definitely go again.

Music assignment, Titimbe Berggren

On wednessday the 28th of September, Centria organize the usually school party at Calle and there was a performing artist on that day call Arttu Lindeman who was born on 11 October 2016. He is a Finnish rap artist and a video blogger. His channel in You Tube  has more than 160 000 subscribers.

In July 2015 Lindeman published a self-released song Mainstreamflownjuntti to You tube. In February 2016, he signed a recording contract with Sony Music which "Mainstreamflownjuntti" chapter was removed from YouTube and Spotify. 








I really liked that party because Centria students showed a lot of love to Arttu's music by singing along with him when he was performing on stage and he had plenty of energy and love and this caught my attention which after his performance he went to the VIP section and i had to go towards that direction to get a clear look of him.

Music Assignment

On the 8.Oct，I went to the Circus, Helsinki to see a melodic death metal bank named Insomnium with my friends cause from one introduced. Actually, I have never heard this type of song until this concert. I was very curious about why the melodic death metal is so popular in Finland even in the world.

When I listened to the whole play ,I was shocked. The overall feeling of Insomnium is that immersed in the sadness of the atmosphere. It is to let a person admire their composition skills, and with no difficulty and speed to make people feel amazing, but more to make people savor special moments. For example, the Down with the Sun :Oh darkness if in thy arms, I could rest for a while.The beginning is so poetic.

As far as I am concerned,on the one hand, they have their own national culture into their music, on the other hand, they have a different understanding of Norse mythology, full of odd shape creatures, psychedelic color is also very strong, which also gives music creators a lot of space. In addition, the myths of northern Europe have the contents of the world's destruction, this may also a reason why the music full feel with dignified and sad.
