D-I-E cottages in Finland for free

Describe:

Last week my Czech friends came to visit me and travel a little bit across the Finland. The plan was to stay 4 days in  nature, sleep in cottages somewhere in a forest and do a lot of hiking trips. When I was packing my stuff I asked them, how much money will I need, because I had no idea how much does one night in a cottage cost. To my surprise, they said that accommodation in cottages is for free. I could not believe it, but it was really true!

Interpret:

My friends explained me, that there is a special webpage, where you can see map of Finland and if you are looking for example for a cottage where to spend night same as we did, you can just easily zoom this map, find particular cottage on a particular place and get all the information you need, like: how many beds are inside, if table, chairs, plates, mugs or electricity is there and so on.

Then it is just up to you which cottage will you choose to stay in, there is no booking, so only thing is to hope, that no one else will be there and at the same time. I could not believe, that this system works. But it really works, because that cottage where me and my friends were, was perfect! Everything what was written on the webpage that is inside the cottage was there.

I have never met with this system of accommodation before, we definitely don´t have something like this in Czech Republic and I think that it is not also in other countries. I was thinking that this system works here in Finland, because Finns really love forests, hiking and everything what is connected with nature.

Evaluate:

It is a pity that this system is not in my country or also in other countries, because I think, that if everyone could stay night for free somewhere in a nature, people would spend more of their free time by travelling, hiking and discovering new places, which could change their lifestyle into more active way.

I really admire Finland for this.

Music Assignment

I visited West Coast club in Kokkola this Saturday (29.10.) because of concert of one Finnish band- MÖNNI. This music band from Helsinki plays punk/punkrock/hardrock and has 5 members: Pekka Monni (Bass guitar), Mopo Vartiainen (drums), Mika Keimo (guitar), Peto (guitar) and Raivo-Elvis (singer). These guys write and make their own music and all of their songs are in finnish. 
I have never been in a hardrock concert before, so I was curious how the music and atmosphere will be. Before concert I was listening some of Mönni´s songs which I found in youtube and I really started look forward to it.

The concert was to begin at 22:00, but I came to West Coast quite later- around  22:40. 

I entered and to my surprise....no band, no live music, no crowded club! 

The concert was over!! I was shocked, because usually when I go to concert in Czech, a band is playing for more than 2hours!

So I am really disappointed that I missed my first hardrock concert...(and also- of course- that I am not able to accomplish this Music assignment.)

But.... during holidays I visited Helsinki and one music band was playing in the middle of the street. I know that this is not a real concert, but I was listening to them for more than 30minutes I think. Their music was amazing - 5 young boys were playing famous songs in their own way (so covers) only with trumpets, trombone, tuba and drums. Atmosphere was great, many people who were just walking around stopped and started to listen the music (few of them started also singing and dancing). Unfortunattely I have no idea what the name of this band is, because it wasn´t written anywhere. I just know that I really enjoyed their show as well as many passerby.

Hi everyone!!

My name is Lucie Kolářová, I am 23 years old and I came from Pilsen, Czech Republic.
I am an exchange student for one semester at Centria (but I try to do my best to stay in this beautiful country whole year).

My hobbies are any kinds of sport, but my favourite one is badminton, which I have been playing since I was 9. Besides sport I love travelling to places with a beautiful wild nature.

I have never been in Finland before, so I am ready to absorb as much informations of this unique country and have as much unforgettable experiences here as possible!!
